Course & Unit number: Animation BA Project 1 Unit 7

Name: Adam Skinner

Proposal: What do you intend to do?

This term I intend to work on pre-production for a 3 minute Animation based on a child’s dream. It is set in Medieval England and seen through the eyes of the protagonist, an 8 year old boy called Billy. Billy plays Games with his friends like all 8 year old boys do, but his favourite game is Knights, This story is about Sir Billy of Braveington, and how the villagers of Little Lake need his help to rescue them from the monstrous character Rogrob, who is eating all their valuable crops. The monster needs to be stopped and Billy is the Knight for the job.

I am going to produce an animated walk cycle for my Rogrob character, a full length animatic of my intended animation, storyboards, character designs and  a regular studio blog. The animation will be shot as puppet stop motion. The influences on the style and script include characters created by Doug Tennapel, Johen Vasquez, Stephen Hillenburg and Adam Burton aka Maxwell Atoms.

Tutor’s comments:

The blog evidences the learning agreement content, and the narrative intent is clear. Bookings for the stop motion studio need to be done well in advance. You are working to your strengths in puppet stop motion, and you have  also proved to be an expressive thespian approach in your second year work. Attention to detail is the key to success.
