Ok i am really happy with this shot, this is when billy is inside the cave with only a torch to light his way. i used the particle effect again and changed the colours, spawn and death rate, shape, opacity and speed to make it look like there are fire flies inside the cave, i also put the shine trapcode on the fire flies to make them look like they are glowing when the light passes across them!

The next scene after the village is the cave entrance, and in order to make this look like it is high up in the mountains i added cloud in with the particle world effect in after effects. i also changed the lighting of the rays to make it look a bit more sinister and scary to give the feeling that Billy is very worried about entering the cave.

This is billy’s Village Dialogue with the same effects on, this time the rays flash a bit to add effects of birds passing over and adds more cloud movement.

This is the village shot with camera changes and the same trapcodes i used to do the sun ray effect that i used on the establishing shot.

This is what the intro/titles now look like. i made 3D text in after effects using shatter, i then added two trapcodes psunami and shine to create the sun rays across the screen!

This is a full ruff cut of my film, all the shots that i originally shot to make up the whole thing. I have re-shot some of it, and some of it makes no sense without the effects on, oh and i have compressed it so much to upload it that i think the audio is out in places and the animation is a bit jumpy, but here it is anyway!! enjoy!

well guys here it is, REALLY basic because i had some serious problems with my script and in turn have now gone back to my original script! this is basicly just for timing and making sure it all flows ok, but i rather like it! all of the stills are taken straight from my storyboard (hence why they are so dire!) hope you like it, now its on to making the puppets!!!

a walk cycle for my Rogrob character, his walk is modeled on a gorillas movements, however because my character is kind of a lummox he is rather heavy handed as i have tried to show in my walk cycle as the hands look really heavy as they fall.

Earthworm Jim →
Another of my influences is Doug TenNaple, the writer, designer and director of Earthworm Jim, he has also written comics and written and directed indie live action films. Since I was young I have enjoyed Earthworm Jim, but until recently didn’t realise how much Doug TenNaples work influenced me with my own over the years, I believe my comic approach to animation and drawing originated with...

Invader Zim →
Invader Zim is written and directed by Johnen Vasquez, I have loved Johnens work since the first comic book he wrote many years ago called johnny the homicidal maniac, his characters have so much life and individuality and his comedy writing is brilliant, I will always class Johnen as one of the key influences in my own work.

Deathspank →
This is where my idea for a medieval setting originated, Deathspank is a role playing game that pokes fun at role playing games! The game is written brilliantly and is genuinely funny and whilst playing through the game I found myself wanting to also tell a story set in these times of mythical beasts and heroes, and thus spawned Billys Dream. Originally I wanted to animate it completely in after...
